WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will attend a roundtable discussion with representatives of area employers and agencies in Farmington on Tuesday. The luncheon, hosted by the Lakes Country Resource Center, will be held at The Factory in Farmington from noon to 1:30 p.m. CDT.
“I’m glad to have the opportunity to talk about the issues facing our local economy with the people who are on the front lines. Our local businesses and agencies provide tremendous opportunities to working men and women in our communities. At the same time, I am working in Congress to ensure we are making the most of those opportunities. This roundtable will be a great chance to exchange views as we help shape the economic future of our region,” Emerson said.
“The work of Lakes Country Resource Center underscores the value of every member of our Southeast Missouri workforce, as well as the wide variety of ways of contributing in our economy. Continued job training is essential to the professional development of every member of our community,” Emerson added.
Bontiea Goss, CEO of Lakes Country Resource Center, said “We are proud and pleased to welcome Congresswoman Emerson to this roundtable as she is a known champion of small businesses and local communities.” Adds Goss, “In these turbulent economic times, workforce collaboration involves reaching into the heart of our communities to explore resources that strengthen us all.”
