WASHINGTON  -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced that the University of Missouri-Rolla will receive a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.  The $79,236 award will fund a research project on industrial iron phosphate melts, used to fabricate glass.

 

“The University of Missouri at Rolla has a long record of successes in scientific research.  I am confident this grant will enable the researchers at UM-R to continue their tradition of excellence,” Emerson said.  “More importantly, the work product from the University is revolutionizing business practices and industrial processes across the nation.”

 

Funding for the grant is authorized for the period from June 1, 2004 to Feb. 28, 2005.
