WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) and Senators Kit Bond and Jim Talent today announced a $55,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development to the Bell City Improvement Cooperation. Rural Development funds will be used to renovate an existing structure for lease to SuperStats Trading Cards, a small and emerging business. This project will create seven to ten new jobs in Bell City.
“This grant from Rural Development will help Bell City grow and bolster our economy. It is important to have a positive business environment in rural Missouri,” Emerson said. “Rural Development has done a good job of identifying opportunities to create new jobs and to offer opportunities for small businesses. We never know when an emerging company may blossom into a major employer in our region.”
"Through federal investments like today's announcement we can create the right environment for economic growth," said Senator Kit Bond. "I am excited about the role SuperStats Trading Cards will continue to play in boosting the economy in Bell City."
“We must do more to encourage small business growth and job creation in Stoddard County,” said Talent, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee. “This renovation project will bring additional jobs to the area. I will continue to work with Rep. Emerson and Sen. Bond to deliver additional funding to help stimulate the local economy.” |
