WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) and Senators Kit Bond and Jim Talent today announced a $46,594 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development to the City of Marble Hill, MO. Funds from the Rural Business Enterprise Grant program will be used to extend sewer lines to serve six businesses at two locations within the city limits of Marble hill.
“Rural Development funds are important to bolstering the water and waste infrastructure in Southern Missouri. This project is expected to save 20 jobs and to create 20 new opportunities for employment,” Emerson said. “These funds are a worthwhile investment in the quality of life in the area. The extended sewer lines will create the economic environment we really need to bring economic recovery to rural Missouri.”
"Through federal investments like today's announcement we can create the right environment for economic growth," said Senator Kit Bond. "The funds announced today will create new jobs in Southern Missouri while boosting the quality of life for residents in Marble Hill."
“The federal government is continuing to partner with Missouri communities by creating an environment that allows businesses – large and small – to flourish,” Sen. Talent said. “This grant will provide the resources necessary to build critical infrastructure in Marble Hill. I am very pleased to announce this funding along with Sen. Bond and Congresswoman Emerson who are leading the effort to bring additional federal dollars back to Missouri.” |
