WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) tomorrow will help to welcome home members of the 1221st National Guard unit returning home from Iraq.
“Our community is so proud of their service, but we are just as proud to have the men and women of the 1221st back at their jobs, in our churches, at community events, and in their usual places at our dining room tables. The soldiers of the 1221st are back with us again after performing a dangerous duty – but their service has not ended. They will continue to enrich our Southeast Missouri life as soldiers on the home front – keeping alive the spirit, the values, and the freedoms they have nobly defended for us all,” Emerson said.
The celebration will take place tomorrow at the Dexter High School auditorium, starting at 10:00 a.m. CDT.
“These brave Missourians have fulfilled their duties, and then some. We are so proud of them, so happy to welcome them home, and so grateful for their patriotism,” Emerson said. |
