WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) tomorrow will speak at the induction ceremony for the Wall of Valor in Cape Girardeau.
“Our veterans are a great source of pride in our community. These twelve brave men have served their country with honor, both on the field of battle and in their lives as Americans,” Emerson said. “I am very excited to be part of this program and to let these honored veterans know, once again, how important they are to our national life and our history as patriots.”
Twelve decorated veterans will be added to the Wall of Valor.
Following tomorrow’s ceremony, Emerson will award a Purple Heart to WWII veteran William Seabert Greer of Clubb, Missouri. Greer’s Purple Heart was earned for injuries he sustained on June 14, 1944 at Normandy, France, but the medal was never awarded. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
