WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will tour Ava Elementary School tomorrow. She is scheduled to read to a 1st grade class and speak to 4th graders about American government TOMORROW beginning at 9:00 a.m. CST. She will then visit the high school and speak to American history students.
“There’s nothing I enjoy more than spending some time with a classroom of enthusiastic young students and reading or talking about our American government,” Emerson said. “At school and at home, there may be no more important skill than reading for a lifetime of learning. I’m an avid reader, both for work and for pleasure, and I love sharing a good book with the young boys and girls who have discovered the joy of reading books.”
“American history is a fascinating subject. Our high school students are learning about the patriotism of generations of Americans, and I hope I can provide them with an interesting perspective about Congress, American politics, and the role of our nation in the world.”
