WASHINGTON  -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today offered the following remarks as USDA Rural Development provided a combination of grants and loans totaling $1,063,100 to the Washington County Public Water Supply District 4.  The funding will support construction of a sewer system to serve more than one hundred residents.

 

“I am very pleased at the awarding of these funds to improve overall water quality for residents of Washington County,” Emerson said.  “In rural America, safe and clean wastewater disposal requires infrastructure that is very expensive to build.  I am very appreciative of the efforts made by USDA Rural Development to identify this investment in Washington County and fund these improvements.”
