WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) and members of her staff will volunteer at the Bootheel Food Bank as part of her 10th Annual Emerson Farm Tour.
“Part of celebrating the agricultural bounty of our region is sharing food with those who are less fortunate. The Bootheel Food bank is an important link between agriculture and our community,” Emerson said. “I’m proud to spotlight a generous institution in Sikeston and Southeast Missouri, where we take the business of being good neighbors seriously. I’m very much looking forward to spending a couple of hours helping out at the Bootheel Food Bank and seeing firsthand the good work they do there.”
The Bootheel Food Bank is a regional clearinghouse for food donations. It distributes about 7,000 food baskets in a 16-county area.
