WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit Dunklin County on Tuesday as part of her 24th Annual Emerson Farm Tour. Emerson will have dinner with cotton producers at the Catfish Wharf in Kennett from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. CDT.
“Cotton is an essential agricultural product from Southeast Missouri, but it is also an American commodity that has been challenged on the world market. Now that China is the world’s leading cotton producer, U.S. cotton producers have to use every available advantage to keep their edge. Fortunately, we have a hard-working and knowledgeable group of cotton growers who do a great job of keeping their state and federal representatives up to date. I look forward to having another productive discussion with them tomorrow evening,” Emerson said.
