Emerson Farm Tour Visits Mississippi
County WEDNESDAY

WASHINGTON  -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit Mississippi County on Wednesday as part of her 24th Annual Emerson Farm Tour.  At 3:00 p.m., Emerson will be at the Susanna Wesley Family Learning Center in East Prairie to announce a $1,000 grant and to award a Victory Against Hunger Award.

“Every month, the Susanna Wesley Family Learning Center serves more than 2,000 meals.  As part of going above and beyond, however, the Center also provides education, nutritional assistance, tutoring and job training,” Emerson said.  “The Center is responsible for noticeably raising the quality of life for many of Mississippi County’s less-fortunate residents.  Public service is deeply ingrained in the men and women who work and volunteer through the Susanna Wesley Center, and they are very deserving of this award.”

The Victory Against Hunger Award and the $1,000 grant are made possible by the Congressional Hunger Center, of which Emerson is co-chairperson.
