WASHINGTON  -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit Pemiscot County on Wednesday as part of her 24th Annual Emerson Farm Tour.  At 8:00 a.m., Emerson will visit Consolidated Grain and Barge, north of Hwy. 84 near the Pemiscot County Port. 

 

“Transportation is absolutely vital to the health of our agricultural economy,” Emerson said. “Southern Missouri ports are our very own windows on the world.  From those ports, our agricultural produce is shipped out to markets all over the globe.  Not only is our infrastructure important on highways, but it is also essential on our rivers at locks, dams, and ports.  I look forward to seeing how this infrastructure is being used as I continue my work to make the river safer and more efficient for commerce.”
