WASHINGTON  -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will tour the Clearwater Dam in Wayne County tomorrow, October 4, at 2:00 p.m. CDT.

 

“The Clearwater Dam is an integral part of the flood protection infrastructure of our district, and I look forward to getting a close-up tour of the dam’s operations and upkeep.  We are making a substantial investment in the management of Southern Missouri’s water resources.  Fixing the sinkhole in the dam continues to be an important component of a plan that encompasses the agriculture, public health, transportation and recreation components of our rural economy and way of life.  This is a considerable priority among water projects in the region, one that I am lending my full support in Congress.  I have worked to dedicate federal resources to address this
issue now so we do not face compounding problems, with higher price tags, in the future,”  Emerson said.

 

Project Manager Lee Bass and Project Director James Beard will accompany Emerson on the tour.
