WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will meet local leaders for lunch in Van Buren tomorrow at noon, CDT, to discuss issues of regional importance.
“Van Buren is doing an excellent job attracting tourism to the region and keeping the local economy on an even keel. I want to learn more from local leaders about the successes they have had and the challenges they face. It is extremely important that there is frequent communication between local and federal officials. I am here to make sure those channels remain open and active,” Emerson said. “I also want to support the community in every way as we work together to resolve water infrastructure issues in the area. The support of the community will be important in getting this crucial need addressed.”
Mayor John Bailiff and State Representative Mike Dethrow will attend, along with other area leaders and local government officials.
