WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit a West Plains home to see how the Weatherization Assistance Program benefits elderly and low-income homeowners from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. CDT on Thursday, August 24.
“Heating your home in the winter and cooling it in the summer mean more than just comfort for our senior citizens. Extreme temperatures can cause or complicate many conditions and illnesses, so it is important that we take the care to ensure these homes are energy efficient. Especially with energy prices for home heating so high, a program like this can save more than money for a senior citizen on a fixed income – it can save a life. I look forward to seeing how the Weatherization Assistance Program meets this important need in our community on Thursday,” said Emerson.
