WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will speak tomorrow at the Bootheel RC&D conference about issues facing the agriculture community in the 110th Congress, particularly the shaping of the 2007 Farm Bill. The meeting will take place at Rebecca Sharpe’s on Mill Street in New Madrid from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST.
“The 2007 Farm Bill is going to be a wide-ranging document, addressing many federal programs our agricultural communities rely upon for their economic vitality. The input of our farmers and ranchers is essential to policymakers in Washington, and I have a serious responsibility to communicate how changes in Farm Bill programs in the House of Representatives. At the same time, events such as this one help me to keep our producers informed about the day-today developments in negotiations over this bill. I am very much looking forward to a lively two-way discussion,” said Emerson.
