WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced that the MO-SCI Corporation, located in Rolla, MO, will be awarded a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
“It’s always exciting when a Southern Missouri business is recognized for its creativity and expertise, neither of which is in short supply. I’m proud to be among the first to congratulate MO-SCI on earning this opportunity. We have a deep obligation in Congress to promote the small businesses which excel in the rural areas of our country, and I am a strong proponent of the SBIR program at the Department of Energy,” Emerson said.
MO-SCI applied for the SBIR grant to fund a project of development of glass spheres used for remote sensing applications, such as radiation detection.
