WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will attend the dedication of the new Blue Star Memorial at the Missouri Veterans Home on Sunday, October 21, at 2:00 p.m. CDT. A tour of the newly refurbished veterans home will follow. The new memorial honors all U.S. veterans past, present and future.
“Military service is a proud part of our history in Southern Missouri, and the Missouri Veterans Home is an important component of the system in place to care for those who serve our country in their time of need,” Emerson said. “Our veterans are the pinnacle of civic duty and the height of public service. I am very honored to attend the dedication of the Blue Star Memorial – which not only recognizes those who have served our country, but also those who will choose to serve in the future and extend the great patriotic tradition of our state.”
