WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced she will make one business and one health care stop in Washington County next Thursday, January 24. Emerson will visit Purcell Tire at 10:00 a.m. and the Washington County Pre-Natal Clinic at 11:00 a.m.
Emerson will begin her day at one of Washington County’s largest workplaces.
“Keeping up with our regional employers is a very important part of creating similar successes to our local economy, and Purcell Tire is a major local economic partner. I always enjoy talking to the employees, learning about the processes they use and the products they create, and finding out how Congress can make their company more successful,” Emerson said. “Unquestionably, the economic environment in rural America is challenging. As we open a new chapter in the debate over how to keep our competitive edge in the global economy, examples like Purcell Tire are very important: they provide an example for similar businesses in every rural region of the nation.”
Emerson will then visit the Washington County Pre-Natal Clinic.
“Access the health care is a key issue in Washington County, and the Pre-Natal Clinic provides crucial services close to home. Instead of having to travel to Farmington or Desloge or even to St. Louis to see a specialist, expectant mothers can see a professional right here in Potosi. That’s a tremendous comfort to families in our area,” Emerson said. “I’m looking forward to seeing the Clinic in action, learning how it works, and meeting the people who bring this essential service to the people of Washington County.”
