WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will interview a Cape Girardeau veteran for the national Veterans History Project on Saturday, January 26, at 1:15 p.m. CST. Emerson and the veteran will record his story at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
“One of the best ways to honor our veterans is to remember them; their sacrifices and the stories of those who served our country with them. The Veterans History Project enlists American citizens to interview U.S. veterans and memorialize their experiences serving our country. It’s a project anyone can do, and I am looking forward to recording the story of a Southern Missouri veteran,” Emerson said.
The tape of Emerson’s interview will become a part of the permanent record of the Library of Congress.
