WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced that the University of Missouri-Rolla will receive funding from a grant program at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. An Academic Research Enhancement Award of $225,750 will be made to the university to study Biological Response to Environmental Health Hazards.
“Public health and public safety are important considerations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and this substantial award speaks to the level of expertise we have at the University of Missouri in Rolla. I’m very proud of our university for pursuing and winning this opportunity, and I will look forward to them getting a great opportunity to do some research that can be of great benefit to the nation,” said Emerson.
The title of the grant project is “Role of Selenocystine in Lead Toxicity.”
