WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will present an award to the winner of the Missouri Eighth Congressional District Art Competition on Friday, April 4 at 4:00 p.m. CDT at a reception in the H&H Building in Cape Girardeau.
“We have a number of very impressive entries in this year’s contest, and I am excited to meet the winners so I can personally congratulate them on their fine work,” said Emerson. “We have a tremendous talent of the arts in southern Missouri, and I am very proud of the positive response the competition received from our talented area students.”
The grand prize winner will have his or her work displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, for one year along with winners from every other congressional district in the nation.
The competition is presented in conjunction with the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.
