WASHINGTON   -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit Hartville for a lunch with dairy producers at LJD Restaurant on Tuesday, August 28, from noon to 1:30 p.m. CDT on the 26th Annual Emerson Farm Tour.

“Our ranchers and dairy producers face tremendous challenges, without question.  They are caught in a competition for grain with the emerging renewable fuels industry, and they face stern competition with combined animal feeding operations out West.  In Congress, we have to use smart policies to help them take on those challenges and preserve the safe, affordable supply of American beef and dairy products that they produce,” Emerson said.  “I’m looking forward to a discussion about how the Farm Bill should address some of those issues, as well as other legislation I am aggressively working on as our Eighth District Representative in Congress.”
