WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will meet with Ozark County Commissioners and the general public at the Ozark County Courthouse in Gainesville on Wednesday, August 29, at 10:30 a.m. CDT on the 26th Annual Emerson Farm Tour.
The focus of the meeting will be agricultural policy and the Farm Bill reauthorization currently being considered by Congress.
“I’m excited to meet with Ozark County leaders and citizens to talk about the policies and programs that fuel our rural economy. Certainly agricultural policy is part of that subject, but we also have to consider the many other factors that go into our way of life,” Emerson said. “We have a tremendous responsibility to pass our communities on to the next generation in better condition than they were in when they were passed on to us. That includes the natural beauty of the land that surrounds us as well as the economic and educational opportunities in our county and the patriotism, values and morals we preserve in our homes.”
The meeting is open to members of the media and to the public.
