WASHINGTON   -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit the Jennings Farm during corn harvest south of Sikeston on Wednesday, August 29, at 3:30 p.m. CDT on the 26th Annual Emerson Farm Tour.

“Harvest is a make-or-break time for Southern Missouri farmers, and I am grateful to the members of the Jennings operation for taking time out to show me how they deal with the challenges of bringing in their row crops at season’s end.  I will also look forward to hearing from local producers and talking about the Farm Bill currently under consideration in the U.S. Congress,” Emerson said. “This legislation is meant to be the main support for U.S. agriculture for as many as the next five years, so it is important to have as much input as possible during the critical process of reauthorization.”

The meeting is open to members of the media and to the public.
