WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, praised the decision by Great Lakes Aviation to increase the number of flights for three Montana Essential Air Service (EAS) communities. Great Lakes will add round trip flights between Billings and Glasgow, Havre, and Wolf Point, increasing the number of weekday flights to two-a-day.
“I applaud the decision by Great Lakes to continue working to fulfill their essential air service commitment to Montana,” said Rehberg, a member of the House Appropriations Committee. “For many Montanans, EAS is the only available medical emergency transportation choice. Reliable air service also means more economic opportunities for residents and visitors who work and recreate in Montana.”
Great Lakes Aviation, of Cheyenne, Wyo., took over the EAS contract held by Big Sky Airlines, which ended operations one year ago. Great Lakes has returned air service to seven Montana EAS communities, with regular flights to Billings and Denver. The announcement by Great Lakes today involves the addition of a second weekday flight between Billings and Glasgow, Havre, and Wolf Point. The new schedule is effective beginning April 7.
