Rehberg Meets with Montana American Legion to Discuss Veterans Affairs Issues
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Montana's Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today met with members of the Montana American Legion to discuss legislative priorities for 2008.

“It’s crucial I meet firsthand with those representing Montana’s veteran community,” said Rehberg.  “That way I can ensure I have the proper insight and information to make a case for funding their priorities.  I look forward to continuing to be a strong advocate for veteran’s issues in the coming year.”

Last year, as the only member of the Montana delegation on the Appropriations Committee, Rehberg helped secure a $6.7 billion increase in the Veterans Affairs budget, the largest single increase in its 77 year history.

“Today’s meeting was a great opportunity to meet with Congressman Rehberg on the issues most important to our state’s veterans,” said Jack Mitchell, a Montana American Legion representative.  “We look forward to working with him over the next couple of months.”
