WASHINGTON D.C. - Montana's Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today received the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award, presented by the United States Chamber of Commerce, for his strong voting record on critical business issues.
“I'm going to continue to push pro-growth policies in Congress that boost Montana’s business community,” said Rehberg, a member of the House Appropriations Committee. “It helps creates new jobs and puts more money into the pocket of Montana families and the local economy. I’m truly honored to be receiving this award again.”
The Chamber’s “Spirit of Enterprise” award is given annually to members of Congress based on rankings it gives for key business votes. The Chamber’s designated “key votes” are recorded floor votes on issues established as priorities by the Chamber’s board of directors. Rehberg compiled a 90% score with the Chamber last year and holds a cumulative 95% ranking during his tenure in Congress. He is the only member of the Montana delegation receiving the award.
“Representative Rehberg has proven to be an effective ally to the business community, supporting legislation that helps grow the economy and creates new jobs for hardworking Americans,” said Tom Donohue, U.S. Chamber president and CEO. “The Chamber is grateful for Denny’s commitment to these important issues and is proud to present him with this award.”
Here is how the Montana delegation has scored in the past:
The Chamber awards the Spirit of Enterprise based on rankings it gives members of Congress for key business votes. Votes are Chamber-designated "key votes," recorded floor votes on issues established as priorities by the Chamber’s board of directors on which the Chamber communicates its position prior to the vote. All members who achieve 70% or greater receive the award.
