Rehberg Successfully Fights for $906,000 for Montana National Guard Readiness Center in Veterans and Military Construction Funding Bill
WASHINGTON, DC - Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, this week was successful in fighting for $906,000 for a new Montana National Guard Readiness Center located in Miles City.

“The Montana National Guard requires the best possible facilities for training and storage,” said Rehberg, a member of the House Appropriations Committee.  “As the Guard’s enrollment continues to grow, the need for a new readiness center has become evident.  Thankfully, I was able to include these critical funds in the final bill.”

The Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill provides funding for veterans healthcare and other services as well as funds for construction of military housing and other facilities.  The new Readiness Center will replace the existing one which was built in 1957 and is grossly undersized.  Currently, the Readiness Center in Miles City serves approximately 70 soldiers in Eastern Montana.

“We’re very thankful for Congressman Rehberg’s support of this critical project,” said Colonel Brad Livingston of the Montana National Guard.  “Not only will the new facility better serve the needs of the Miles City area soldiers but it represents a symbol of appreciation to our troops for their hard work.”

“Service in the Montana National Guard requires extensive preparation,” said Rehberg.  “Whether it’s fighting overseas or battling forest fires here at home, these troops are well-trained for the call of duty. The new center will provide a critical boost to the local Guard.”
