Rehberg, House Pass Legislation Honoring Montana’s Firefighters
WASHINGTON, DC - Montana's Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today joined House colleagues in approving legislation honoring Montana’s firefighters.

“The devastating fires throughout the summer are a constant reminder of the critical role our local firefighters play in protecting our homes, property, and loved ones,” said Rehberg, a member of the House Appropriations Committee.  “So, it’s only right we find ways to show them we appreciate their hard work. This bill would do just that.”

            H. Res. 695, sponsored by Representative John Campbell (R-CA), expresses the support of the House of Representatives to designate the second Tuesday in October as National Firefighter Appreciation Day.  There are approximately 8,700 volunteer firefighters in Montana.

“These men and women constantly volunteer to help protect our families from whatever Mother Nature brings,” said Rehberg.  “I’ll continue to look for ways to provide them with the equipment and training they need to stay safe.”
