    McIntyre Announces $5,202,630 for Southeastern North Carolina Communities to Invest in Infrastructure, Health Care, and Education

    Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre announced today that four communities in Southeastern North Carolina – Calabash, Kenansville, Sandyfield, and Southport  – have received a total of $5,202,630 in federal funds for first responder infrastructure improvements, health care investments, and education advancement.

    Congressman McIntyre stated, “By investing in our communities and our citizens, we are investing in a brighter future for all!  These federal funds will make a big difference, and it is good to see our taxpaying dollars coming home to make a difference. “

    Congress appropriated and the United States Department of Agriculture obligated the following funds:


    -Calabash Fire Department -- $2,607,750 loan and $137,250 grant for construction of new fire station;

    -Carolina East Home Care and Hospice (Kenansville) -- $1,700,000 loan and $150,000 grant for new hospice office complex;

    -Town of Sandyfield - $346,490 loan and $61,140 grant for new town hall and fire station complex;

    -Brunswick Community College - $200,000 grant for renovation and improvement of the Southport Continuing Education Center

    Congressman McIntyre is Chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Rural Development.
