McIntyre Announces $2,156,208 for Fayetteville Fire Department
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre announced today that the Fayetteville Fire Department has received $2,156,208 in federal funds for hiring and staffing of firefighters. Fayetteville’s share of this grant is $2,359,327 for a total project value of $4,515,535.
Congressman McIntyre stated, “First responders are on the front lines every day protecting our citizens and communities. These federal funds will help the Fayetteville Fire Department by providing them the resources to increase their frontline firefighters. I congratulate Batallion Commander Mike Hill and all the great folks at the Fayetteville Fire Department for their work in securing these funds. Having an adequate number of firefighters is essential to the safety of citizens and communities and to the success of the fire and rescue departments.”
Fayetteville received these federal funds, appropriated through Congress and distributed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in this round of grants for the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Rescue Emergency Response (SAFER) program.
Congressman McIntyre has been a long time supporter of the federal fire program and has worked repeatedly to increase funds for distribution to our nation’s fire departments.
