    McIntyre Announces $670,820 in Federal Funds for Emergency Food and Shelter Program

    Washington, D.C. - Congressman Mike McIntyre announced today that Southeastern North Carolina will receive $670,820 in federal funds for emergency food and shelter funds.

                Congressman McIntyre stated, “During this Christmas season, it is important that we remember those that are less fortunate, and do all we can to help them with food and shelter.  These funds will do just that and supplement other assistance programs for those in need.”

                The counties below are scheduled to receive the following funds:

    • Brunswick County                                      $70,680
    • Columbus County                                      $43,344
    • Cumberland County                                  $193,353
    • Duplin County                                            $32,344
    • New Hanover County                                $123,533
    • Pender County                                            $32,293
    • Robeson County                                         $106,438
    • Sampson County                                        $40,158

    Funds for this program appropriated by Congress and obligated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency will support social service agencies in more than 2,500 cities and counties across the nation to help the hungry and homeless.
