    McIntyre Announces Almost $300,000 for UNCW To Combat Violent Crimes Against Women

    Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre announced today that the University of North Carolina at Wilmington has received $299,968 in federal funds to combat violent crimes against women on campus.

              Congressman McIntyre stated, “We must do all we can to protect our students on campus.  Campus-based responses and initiatives are key components  in ensuring that any form of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking crimes on campus are stopped!  These federal funds will continue to help UNCW meet these serious challenges, and I applaud the university for their work and attention to enhancing security for all!”

              These federal funds are appropriated by the U.S. Congress and obligated by the U.S. Department of Justice.
