Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Rural Development, discusses rural development ideas and issues with William Lambe, Associate Director for the Community and Economic Development Program at the School of Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Lambe, and other witnesses, testified before the subcommittee on the challenges facing and strategies being implemented in small towns and Rural America. Today’s hearing provided us with some powerful examples of innovative approaches that can help rural communities grow and thrive, and this subcommittee will continue to listen, work, and help rural citizens and leaders use their ingenuity, hard work, and drive to build a better tomorrow.”
