Review of Tobacco Production

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre talks with Robeson County tobacco farmer, Jimmy Pate, at a Capitol Hill hearing on the state of tobacco production in the United States. McIntyre, who is Chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee that has oversight of tobacco, held the hearing to hear from tobacco farmers about the transition tobacco production is going through today. McIntyre stated, “From regulation to a decrease in exports to increased overseas completion, tobacco is facing many challenges and this Subcommittee will continue to work to ensure that tobacco production remains a viable industry.”
