McIntyre To Be Honored at All-American Ball for Support of Veterans

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre will be honored at one of the Inaugural Balls in Washington the night of the Presidential Inauguration.  McIntyre will be honored for his work and support of our nation’s veterans at the All-American Inaugural Ball on January 20th.

In describing the ball and tribute, the All-American Ball organizers state, “The All American Inaugural Ball is a tribute to various distinguished citizens who are recognized for their outstanding and tireless work in their respective field of civic service.  These honored guests “All American Heroes” represent the very best of America.  They are the heart, soul, and backbone of the great American spirit!  One of these heroes, Congressman Mike McIntyre will be recognized for his tremendous service to the country, and in particular for his advocacy on behalf of U.S. veterans.”

During his time in Congress, Representative McIntyre has been a tireless advocate for our nation’s veterans supporting key measures including improved benefits and access to health care.  Last year, McIntyre was named the National Legislator of the Year by the National Association of Veterans County Service Officers for his work advocating on behalf of our nation’s veterans.  McIntyre, a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, is the author of the Veterans Outreach Improvement Act that has passed the U.S. House by a vote of 421-0.  This bill would authorize the VA Secretary to provide grants and assistance to state veterans agencies and county veterans service officers to enhance outreach to veterans and their families and to assist in the development and submittal of benefits claims.

The All-American Ball will be held Tuesday, January 20 at the Westin Washington hotel in Washington, D.C.
