Pallone on Administration’s Decision to End Deepwater Drilling Ban |

Washington, D.C. — Congressmen Frank Pallone (NJ-06) released the following statement Tuesday on the Obama administration’s decision to end the ban on deepwater oil and gas drilling imposed after the BP oil disaster in April.
“I’m disappointed by the administration’s decision to end the moratorium on deepwater drilling because, as we’ve seen, drilling at these depths isn’t safe. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf caused unprecedented environmental and economic damage to the region and proves that the technology doesn’t exist to prevent oil spills. I won’t be sold another bad bill of goods by big oil. I urge the administration to reconsider this decision.” |
