WASHINGTON, D.C.— Congressman Donald M. Payne (NJ-10) released the following statement today on the passing of Senator Edward M. Kennedy:
"I had the privilege of working with Senator Kennedy on key education and labor issues through our mutual service on related Congressional committees. He was a tireless crusader for the well-being of children, for the concerns of working men and women, and for the cares of all those in our nation who continue to struggle. As we mourn the loss of one of our most inspirational leaders, we can honor his memory by fulfilling his dream of making ours a nation where quality, affordable health care is readily available."
