WEINER: THE MAYOR SHOULD ASK FOR HIS MONEY BACK

New York City – Now Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he’ll write checks for Democrats, too.

But that’s not the problem

He’s already raised thousands of dollars for Republicans who have cut critical aid for the City in almost every category, including homeland security, schools, housing and cops.

Today, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Queens & Brooklyn) suggested that the Mayor take another tack: ask for his money back.

“President Bush has led a Republican assault on some of New York City’s most important programs,” said Rep. Weiner, “and a lot of it’s been funded by our Mayor.  It’s great if the Mayor wants to raise funds for Democrats, but first he should ask for his money back from all those Republicans who are hurting our City.”
