Washington, D.C. - "I commend Speaker Boehner for his hard work in refocusing the debate. But, I am dismayed that the White House and Majority Leader Reid continue to pay lip service to the need to cut spending but refuse to actually do anything about it.
After careful review, I could not support the Continuing Resolution. Our national debt exceeds $14 trillion and the deficit for this year alone is estimated to be more than $1.5 trillion. I will continue my efforts to force serious reductions to federal spending as we proceed to develop and debate the fiscal year 2012 budget."
