CHAKA FATTAH MOURNS THE PASSING OF HIS COLLEAGUE

Congressman Fattah issues the following statement following the death of friend and colleague Juanita Millender-McDonald.

WASHINGTON, DC -- "America has lost a dedicated leader; California has lost a remarkable Representative and I have lost a true friend.  A woman of purpose and resolve, Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald met every challenge with strength of mind and courage of heart.

"While she worked tirelessly on issues that enhanced the lives of her local constituents, her arms of influence reached across the spectrum as she brought national attention to election reform and women's issues. Globally, Juanita was undaunted in her fight to restore human rights everywhere and to eradicate genocide in Cambodia and Darfur.

"Congresswoman Millender-McDonald will be remembered by her constituents, her community and her family as a woman who served with dignity and grace. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with her family."
