| Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster released the following statement on the Senate immigration reform legislation introduced by Senator Kennedy:
“I am strongly opposed the Kennedy immigration plan introduced in the Senate. This legislation is nothing more than amnesty for over 20 million illegal aliens already in our country. This proposal legitimizes law breakers and undermines the very idea of national sovereignty.
The Kennedy proposal does little to fix our borders and hands illegal aliens a path to citizenship as a reward for breaking the law. This is not real reform and I will oppose this legislation in its current form.”
