| Washington, DC – Today, the Department of Commerce announced that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) will invest $1 million to the Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation. The investment will help renovate a building for use as a multi-tenant facility for technology-based and industrial businesses. The investment is expected to create 150 jobs and generate $5 million in private investment.
Today’s announcement comes as welcome news to Congressman Bill Shuster who sees the Economic Development Administration’s interest in Clearfield as a clear indication of Pennsylvania’s strength as a center of technology based businesses.
Shuster’s quote from release:
“The Economic Development Administration’s decision to invest in Clearfield County is great news for Central Pennsylvania,” said Representative Bill Shuster, R-PA, a member of the House Small Business Committee. “Every dollar spent in investment multiplies into good jobs, economic growth and a higher standard of living for the families of Clearfield County. I thank Secretary Gutierrez for choosing Pennsylvania for this project. These funds will attract high-tech employers to the region and will show once again that Pennsylvania is a great place for growing businesses to call home.”
