Six Area College Students Learn the Ropes of Congress through Summer Internships with Platts' Office

Washington, D.C. - Six area college students are spending their summer learning about the realities of public service through 10-week internships with Congressman Todd Platts (PA-19). Coordinated by the 19th District Internship Association's annual program, the six outstanding students were selected based on their academic merits and their community commitment. Each intern spends five weeks in Washington, D.C. assisting with legislative projects, and spends five weeks assisting with constituent casework in one of the Congressman's district offices in Carlisle, Gettysburg, and York.

Summer 2003 interns are Nathaniel Berry, a graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School and a senior at University of Pennsylvania, and son of Kehl and Deborah Berry of North Hopewell Township; Matthew W. Boyer, a graduate of Biglerville High School and a senior at Penn State University, and son of Richard and Kathryn Boyer of Biglerville; Paul Kingston, a graduate of Gettysburg Area High School and Lafayette College, and son of Don and Marianne Kingston of Gettysburg; Maura Kroh, a graduate of York Suburban High School and a senior at Bucknell University, and daughter of Loren and Faye Kroh of York; Sarah Wolf, a graduate of Red Land High School and a senior at Shippensburg University, and daughter of Harold and Elaine Wolf of New Cumberland; and Megan A. Yasenchak, a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School and a senior at Dickinson College, and daughter of Michael and Patricia Yasenckak of Paxinos, PA.
