||||
|
Congressman Todd Platts, who recently returned from a bipartisan six-Member Congressional Delegation trip to the Middle East, today joined with the other Republican and Democratic Members of the Delegation in a meeting with President George W. Bush in the Oval Office. The meeting provided an opportunity for Congressman Platts and his colleagues to brief President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, and other senior members of the Administration on what the Delegation Members learned on their trip to Iraq and Afghanistan. The dialogue was an open and frank exchange about the realities on-the-ground in both countries and the need to consider these realities as military action and political developments continue in the months ahead. The other Members of the Congressional Delegation trip included Representatives Stephen Lynch (D-MA), Chris Shays (R-CT), Chris Murphy (D-CT), Peter Welch (D-VT), and Bob Inglis (R-SC).
