Six Area College Students Learn the Value of Public Service through Summer Internships with Congressman Todd Platts' Office

Washington, D.C. - Six area college students are spending their summer learning about the duties and responsibilities of public service through 11-week internships with Congressman Todd Platts (PA-19).  Coordinated by the 19th District Internship Association's annual program, the six outstanding students were selected based on their academic merits and their community commitment. Each intern spends half of their internship in Washington, D.C. assisting with legislative projects and half assisting with constituent casework in one of the Congressman's district offices in Carlisle, Gettysburg, and York.

The summer 2004 interns are Sarah Jensenius, a graduate of Central York High School and a senior at Wake Forest University, and daughter of Robert and Billie Jensenius of York; Seth Lennon, a graduate of Carlisle High School and a junior at Millersville University, and son of Bert and Carol Lennon of Carlisle; Victoria Min, a graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School and a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, and daughter of Leo and Linda Min of Red Lion;  Dyan Owens, a graduate of Carlisle High School and a senior at St. Joseph's University, and daughter of Carl and Renita Owens of Carlisle; Mary Teeter, a graduate of Gettysburg Area High School and a junior at the College of William and Mary, and daughter of Robert and Marilyn Teeter of Gettysburg; and Cory Winter, a graduate of Eastern York High School and a junior at James Madison University, and son of Scott and Diane Winter of York.
