HALL APPLAUDS ‘CLEAN’ FUNDING OF WAR IN |
|
| WASHINGTON, D.C. ...Rep. Ralph Hall (R-TX/4) voted with a majority in the House last evening in strong support of an emergency war funding bill that provides the resources needed for troops fighting the war on terror.
The supplemental funding bill passed by a vote of 280 – 142, with 86 Democrats and all but two Republicans voting in support. “A majority remained unified in our opposition to attaching arbitrary withdrawal dates to emergency war funding, and we were able to get leadership to bring a clean funding bill to the Floor for a vote,” Hall noted. “This bill provides the funding our troops need with no strings attached and also sends a message that we support their efforts and their sacrifice.” “This was the right and honorable thing to do,” Hall said. “We cannot make funding of our men and women in uniform a partisan issue. As we head into observance of Memorial Day, may our troops know that our thoughts and prayers are with them and that a grateful nation appreciates their services.” |
