HALL URGES BIPARTISANSHIP AS 111TH CONGRESS CONVENES

WASHINGTON, D.C. ...As the 111th Congress convened this week, Rep. Ralph Hall (TX/4) echoed the sentiments of House leadership urging bipartisan cooperation to meet the current economic crisis and provide financial security for all Americans.

“Although both chambers of Congress and the White House will be controlled by Democrats, Republicans want to work with our counterparts to provide good policy solutions to the economic struggles that have hurt every American family in one way or another,” Hall said.

“One of the first challenges will be to craft legislation that benefits all Americans and that helps jump-start our economy,” Hall noted.  “We need to carefully review and debate the provisions of this package and give American citizens the opportunity to evaluate it.  We do not need to place more debt on their shoulders without a viable plan to grow our way out of deficit spending.”

“Many Americans are facing loss of their jobs, homes, savings for their children’s education, and their retirement benefits.  The challenges are great, but by working together, we can do our best to put the economy back on track and give families hope and encouragement for a better future,” Hall said.

“I will be in touch with my constituents in the Fourth District as we move forward, and I welcome their input as legislation comes before the House for consideration,” Hall added.  “I will continue to represent their interests to the best of my abilities and to support common-sense legislation that advances sound policy solutions.”
