HALL SUPPORTS LOCAL CONSTITUENTS

ON BRAZOS ELECTRIC CO-OP PROPOSAL

WASHINGTON, D.C. ...In response to Brazos Electric Cooperative’s proposals to build new transmission lines through Fannin and Lamar Counties, Rep. Ralph Hall (R-TX/4) has assured local officials and local citizens that he will work with them to help find an acceptable agreement that does not devalue property or create health risks.

“I am very much aware of the issue and have been in touch with representatives from both Lamar and Fannin Counties, Brazos Electric Co-Op, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service,” Hall said.  “My first and foremost priority is to my constituents, and I will do what I can to help bring this issue to an acceptable conclusion.”

Hall noted that Brazos intends to submit four potential routes for the proposed transmission lines (one preferred and three alternate) to the Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC).  The PUC will ultimately determine the route for the transmission lines.

“I will continue to talk with all parties involved and see how I can help from the Federal end,” Hall said.

Hall sent a letter on May 22 to Fannin County Judge Derrell Hall and Fannin County Commissioners.  “I agree with your position, and I will be working with the Co-Op to help spawn a more acceptable route – and one agreeable to you, the City Council of Paris, Texas, and the citizenry affected,” Hall wrote.

“I don’t know how to put it any more plain – I’m with you.”
